Our senior manager of Distributor relations, Balan Damodaran, did an amazing job sharing business tips during the training portion of the event. He concluded at 6:15 p.m., giving our Distributors an hour to mingle, sign up their prospects and place orders before breaking the day’s fast together at 7:23 p.m in our corporate office.

One of our Distributors offered a prayer of thanksgiving before we broke fast with dates and XanGo® Juice. The prospects that were brought in were so thrilled to be breaking their fast with XanGo Juice—a much healthier option than the regular sweet drinks.

Our staff wore the traditional Malay outfits as they assisted our Distributors with the signups and ordering. Everyone enjoyed the training, the dinner and the spirit in which we hosted the event. Our Distributors were so excited that they promised that next year’s Breaking the Fast event will see double the number of people in our office!

This event was a testament to the fact that our Distributors are working their XanGo businesses in full force! It was awesome to see Distributors from different faiths coming together and breaking their fast with XanGo. It was a fine example of 1 XANGO, 1 MALAYSIA! We look forward to having this event again next year with double the number of people, signups and sales!

The timing of the event coincided perfectly with the safe cosmetics bill that was introduced last month.

More than 100 people attended Friday evening’s lectures, and that number swelled to nearly 200 on Saturday. On Friday, Misha Hughes and Jessica Barratt opened by introducing the Glimpse Intensive, followed by a Q&A with Dr. Fred Templeman and myself.

Saturday began with Karen talking about the current problems of toxic cosmetics, followed by a discussion of the solutions in the afternoon. Guest lecturers included Sonja Lunder from EWG, Emily Arell from the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, Dr. Templeman and Misha Hughes. I concluded with the XanGo opportunity.

It was a great, great symposium building belief and networking into the wellness communities.

Together with the XanGo Team that finished last week’s Ultimate Challenge, I got to take an honorary lap ahead of this year’s class of top competitive cyclists. Accomplished rider and phenomenal commentator, Bob Roll, joined us for the lap dressed in a sharp XANGO cycling uniform as well.

The stage ended at the top of Mount Nebo, and Aaron was there to present the award and a XANGO cycling outfit to stage winner Levi Leipheimer. Levi is one of the top cyclists in the world. At the Tour de France, when Lance Armstrong crashed 3 times and was out of the standings, Levi was next in line for team Radio Shack. It was a cool moment to have our chairman of the board stand next to Levi and give him the award.

We learned many of the attendees drove eight hours or more to attend this event, and one large group rode six hours on a bus with no air conditioning. And for them to show up with all the energy that they did…. That, my friends, is a true personification of commitment and passion.

This was one of the very few times that Beverly and I shared the stage (I usually let her have it all to herself!). We shared our thoughts on experiencing success no matter your background, and we talked about dreams and about being persistent. We spoke with the group about the power of a business-duplication system, and about the impact of genuine leadership.

During the recognition portion, Beverly and I were particularly touched by Raúl Villegas’s exciting and emotional story. Raúl is a Premier who’s now in his second month of qualifying toward 100K Select, and he’s a great leader in this group. I was especially gratified to be able to present 200K Liz Salinas with her beautiful XanGo pen by Monteblanc, a token of her membership in our Million Dollar Club.

Some people might ask why we would keep doing something like this to ourselves, and that might be a very valid question. Nevertheless, Team XanGo competed again this year in “America’s toughest one-day cycling adventure.” Our CFO Nate Brown, 200K Lance Shiffman, Brock Cannon, Brock Rowley, Joe Morton and I suited up last Saturday for The Ultimate Challenge, a grueling but amazing ride from Kimball Junction in Park City to Snowbird Ski Resort.

The Ultimate Challenge gives amateur cyclists the chance to ride the same course the pros will ride in next week’s Tour of Utah. It’s a stunning way to see some of the most beautiful scenery Utah has to offer. We gained nearly 11,000 feet of elevation over the 100-mile course. We cruised down the twisting canyon roads, fought up the 6% – 10% grade uphills, and worked together as a team to push through the toughest stretches.

Every member of Team XanGo not only finished the race but also improved on last year’s times—even though this year’s course was a few miles longer. To call it a long, hot bike ride on a long, hot day is the understatement of the year. Each feed station along the way was like an oasis in the desert heat. We had to reach to the very bottom of our tanks, but we set out to finish the race and we accomplished our goal.

We’ve been hitting quite a few milestones here at XanGo lately. We had our 500th consecutive commission run in May, Marco Galbiati became the first 200K in Europe, RSL has set franchise records in just about every statistic this season (which we’ll go ahead and take some credit for) and we’re celebrating our 8th anniversary next month.

But perhaps more significant than any of these is the milestone we hit last week, when our 2 millionth meal was sent out through the Meal Pack program. The benchmark meal was somewhere in the middle of a shipment headed for Cambodia and Malawi. XanGo Distributors’ donations, through partner AmeriCares, have also been sent to Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Myanmar, Haiti and Rwanda during the Meal Pack’s three years of existence, helping children and adults battling starvation and related illnesses.

I’m so proud to be associated with people as charitable as our Distributors and customers. Thank you for changing lives and spreading wellness, in all of its forms. Thank you for believing in your power to make a difference.
